YOUNG entrepreneur Tafadzwa Makura is behind Zimbabwe’s first online ebookshop — Mazwi — which features mostly local titles published in the country. Publishers who have since embraced the platform include amaBooks, Weaver Press as well as a host of self-published authors. Instead of waiting to look for pirated books on the streets, Zimbabweans can easily buy ebooks online via mobile money platforms such as Ecocash, Telecash, Visa or Zimswitch Debit/Credit card. The books can be read on any Adobe Digital Editions which is compatible with Apple, Windows or Android devices.
